Chilly Pan Mee

I googled for the word “Pan Mee” and see what the result showed? A whopping 1.7 million returns. Talk about being everyone’s favorite! Anyway, as you can see from the result of the search, Restoran Kin Kin in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in KL seemed to be sitting right at the top. But is it the best place for Pan Mee? Well, I can’t tell because I have not personally tried it.

On the other hand, what I CAN tell you is this one below…..

I have been to this one many, many times … simply because it’s near where I live. That’s right …. Dataran Sunway in Kota Damansara. Food is plentiful here, lucky me. And as for you foodies out there, if you haven’t been to Dataran Sunway … it’s about time you do so.

Restoran Super Kitchen, or Chilly Pan Mee serves 3 different types of Pan Mee. The more popular one would be the Chilly Pan Mee, and there’s the Curry Pan Mee and finally the Pan Mee Soup. And my favorite is of course the Chilly Pan Mee. I usually follow my 4-steps procedure when consuming my bowl of Chilly Pan Mee. Failing to adhere to the steps may result in swollen lips or rumbly tummy.

Anyway, if you’re looking to ‘spice up’ your life, Chilly Pan Mee is where you want to be. And the damage? A mere RM5.50 a bowl.

Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee (Batu Road)

  10. Tamie Said,

The egg yolk is fantastic especially when you mix the noodle up with the chili. It’s not over-cooked just nice. I like it the way it is as the egg yolk melts into the noodle and of course mix a bit of the soup. HMMM yummy!

    Dear ALL,

At this moment 27th July 2009, i just had my lunch in this restaurant with my colleague, i had ordered Curry Pan Mee and with Side order of WANTAN SOUP. In the half way of my lunch i discover a COCKROACH in the wantan soup so i called up the manager of the restaurant, and i complain about it but the manage so rude reply me ” So Now I change one for you OK OR NOT! ” and so dissappointed by his attitude and not even an apology to us. I have took some picture with my handphone but how can i post it? Some evidence to show about this hygiene issue. I had been visiting this restaurant for 6 month, guess i wont go there anymore.

  24. Chai Said,

i have tried both Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee and Restoran Kin Kin in Jalan TAR. IMHO, Restoran Kin Kin is the real stuff, strongly aromatic with the key secret lies in their dried chili spice.
Super Kitchen on the other hand started about 8years back in Batu Road, right across Kin Kin, trying to copy Kin Kin’s recipe but to no success.
If you have tasted Super Kitchen Pan Mee, it is a tad too sweet for me + the chili does not exudes the nice fragrance like Kin Kin’s.
I will say just go to Kin Kin’s and try the real stuff and you won’t have the same high opinion of Super Kitchen pan mee again.
    …. just my two cents

  25. Pan Mee Digger Said,

I visited this shop in Kota Damansara recently. I noticed something wasn’t right. Its not as packed as before. Thought that was weird. It was much later when I was about to leave I figured why people have stopped coming.

The owner who was once friendly and humble has turned into a monster. He is rude, proud and arrogant.

I was greatly disappointed that I walked out vouch to never return again.

When it first started, I was a big fan and would patronize this shop at least twice a week with double orders. Its either vege, wantan or two bowls of noodles. On weekends, I’ll invite friends to savor the tasty pan mee. In 1 years, I think I have introduced no less than 100 customers to him.

Back then, I could never imagine the owner becoming into this.

What surprises me most is I also heard others repeating that he is now rude and arrogant.

So sad…. such potential but with no appreciation for customers.

I’d rather patronize other Super Kitchen and not this one at Kota Damansara.

The rule of the day is to remain humble always. That’s not too much to ask I thing.

… and so sad to read the comment above on the cockroach incident.
