Hainan Station

I don’t think is my writing on a kopitiam concept cafe, nor will it be the last. My last few articles featuring kopitiam-style food served pretty much the same thing. Toast breads, half-boiled eggs, traditional coffee .. well, you name it. So, what am I getting into?

To begin with, Hainan Station is another one of such. So if you dread kopitiam food … don’t read on.

Hainan Station is located in Plaza Mont Kiara … and I think there’s another one located in Avenue K. I haven’t been to the one in Avenue K though, read about it in Joan’s blog. There’s a few reasons why I must write about this place. And no, it’s not because I get discounts nor am I paid to do this. The only reason I am doing this is because …

1. I like their food. (Really !)
2. It’s located near my office. (Guess I’ll be eating there quite a lot …)
3. In the vicinity of Mont Kiara area, this is one of the ‘affordable’ food spots.

So the, what is good in Hainan Station? To start off, I would highly recommend their Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam. Well, they are not exactly the best in town but considerably good. Large chicken portion …. generous condiments.

As for the prawn noodle, it’s just normal. But for me, it’s good enough because that’s the only place I can find prawn noodle. The Chicken Thigh Noodle was surprising good though. It was my first try and I can only say .. looks can be deceiving. The plain food presentation was very quickly overcame by the delicious taste of the Chicken Thigh Noodle. Do check out this dish.

Anyway, here’s some images to whet your appetite.

Generally, the food here is pretty good and it’s good value for your money. Don’t trust my words … here are more opinions about Hainan Station from other bloggers.

  1. Chin Said,

This kopitiam concept cafe has not ran itself into the ground as yet. Many more to come. I thought I saw one of this in Shah Alam town centre. It will be interesting eats and also comparison with others.
