Have you been to Gardens @ MidValley Megamall?

If you haven’t, it’s about time you make a trip there. I used to dislike going to MidValley simply because the parking there is horrible! It’s sometimes practically impossible to get a parking there. But since the opening of The Gardens at MidValley, I’ve been going back there … again and again. Because of the food, I guess.

Rak Thai.JPG

There’s quite a few good restaurants in The Gardens. Alexis, Flying Chillies, Sushi Zanmai, Fong Lye Tea House, YO! Sushi .. just to name a few. Rak Thai is a Thai restaurant located on the lower ground floor of Gardens MidValley, which is also where most of the other restaurants are located.

Rak Thai is owned by a Thai couple who was inspired by the food in the streets of Thailand. The outlet design also depicts traditional Thai culture with a slight touch of modern architecture. Warm, friendly waiting staffs greet you as you enter the restaurant.

Ordering Thai food isn’t that difficult, ESPECIALLY when there’s english translations in the menu. This is my 3rd visit to this restaurant, therefore I am pretty sure what’s nice here. Wink, wink! Here they are, in no particular order.

Notice that the dishes above are pretty …. home-cooked? Anyway, if you’re drooling already … here’s how to get to MidValley (if you don’t already know) and Bon Apetit !

  4. J2Kfm Said,

I thought Thai style of kangkung is deep-fried, tenpura style?
had them once in Penang, and they were marvellous!!!

Rak Thai does offer an affordable meal (this IS The Gardens, after all) for
casual dining. the desserts fare rather poorly though.

not much of tables in rak thai..one have to queue up and wait during the weekends due to its popularity..another 2 popular place in gardens would be zanmai and fong lye..hate the queues

  7. jason Said,

  8. Chin Said,

Its hard to get authentic Thai food in KL and surprisingly Thai restaurant do not fare well in their own home soil. Beats me. Foreign restaurants are packed while Thai restaurant are half filled. Always gone for hawker fare. Will give it a try if I can overcome the parking hangup.
